Overview

The fundamental reason this classification exists is to ensure that the Medical Center patients; federal, state and or local “Access to Healthcare” applications are processed in an efficient and timely manner. The position requires that the JRMC staff initiates, process and collect all necessary documentation required per programs guidelines. Additionally, the JRMC staff is required to maintain patients’ confidentiality in regards to HIPAA and other federal, state and local regulations as stated in the JRMC policies and procedures manual.

Responsibilities

Serves as a liaison to state of New Jersey and NJPCA.

  • Contacts patients with respect to Unreimbursed Care / Presumptive Eligibility and New Jersey Family Care application via personal contact, telephone and or mail.
  • Contact patients to obtain additional/missing information needed to complete state and local governmental applications.
  • Ensures 100% of patient files contain all required documentation for the required state and local programs.
  • Ensure all billing staff are fully proficient in initiating state, county and grant eligibility applications.
  • Oversees activities of enrollment representatives from the various HMO’s.
  • Maintains log on Unreimbursed Care patients for reporting purpose.
  • Follows-up with an Unreimbursed Care application on all patients who did not meet New Jersey Family Care criteria.
  • Identifies in PCN billing system that patient is approved for services within the Jewish Renaissance Medical Center.
  • Trains existing and new staff on all state and local programs.
  • Perform internal audits and reports.
  • Participate in health forum and activities off-site.
  • Provides coverage as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate effective follow-through with all task.
  • Maintain high level of confidentially.
  • Ability to complete assignment in a timely manner.
  • Working knowledge of JRMC policies and procedures.
  • Able to work as a team player.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with patients.

Spanish speaking preferred.
