Overview

The Jewish Renaissance Medical Center is one of 21 Federally Qualified Health Centers in the state of NJ. Our mission is to provide primary and preventative care to patients regardless of ability to pay, race, ethnicity, and cultural competence. In the last 10 years, the JRMC has been able to expand to over 6 locations in the Middlesex and Essex County areas and provide services to our patients in specialties such as Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, as well as Dental care.  By joining and being a member of our team, you will be able to give great care to patients as well as work in a great environment.

Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant you will be required to perform the following duties:

ü  Rooming patients

ü  Obtaining laboratory/radiology/ER/hospital reports prior to provider seeing patient if it pertains to visit and any records upon provider request

  • Completion of record release if required.

ü  Draw blood if needed, e.g Newark sites

ü  Immunization entry (old and new) in the patient’s EMR.

ü  Do EKG’s

ü  Perform waived laboratory testing and enter results in EMR.

Pregnancy Testing

Rapid Strep Testing    

Fingerstick 

               

ü  Administer Vaccines with physician order

ü  Administer Injectable Medications with physician order

ü  Complete portion of medical forms (see attached policy)

-          NAME/HT/WT/Temp/Vision/Hearing portion of form

ü  Complete record release forms in EMR to obtain records from another office/facility

ü  Set-up and Clean-up patient examination rooms on daily basis

-          Ensure rooms are well-equipped with necessary supplies

ü  Check on medical supplies

ü  Maintain laboratory logs of patient testing

ü  Assist the Provider and RN in facilitating patient flow

ü  Assist the Provider/RN:

-          during procedures

-          handling difficult patients

-          translation in Spanish if required

Qualifications

ü  Maintain CPR certification

ü  Maintain Medical Assistant certification

ü  Maintain a respectful and professional attitude toward all staff and patients

ü  Document patient encounters in the patient’s EMR as per EMR Manual’s JRMC MA workflow and MA Departmental Protocols
